In this project, we apply Artificial Intelligence to images of a plastic component from the Isofix fastening system to perform automated quality control. The system detects forming defects in the fastening clips as well as appearance defects related to the white paint application process, acting as a final quality inspection on the production line.
To ensure complete visualization of the part, a robot is used to position the component in front of the camera, presenting the different views required for reliable inspection. Thanks to this system, 100% of the produced parts can be inspected in a repetitive and consistent manner, reducing dependence on manual inspections and the associated variability.
The solution reduces the risk of shipping defective products to the final customer and enables the automation of the process. In addition, it helps strengthen the manufacturer’s brand image by ensuring high and traceable quality standards.
This solution uses the Logivision platform for real-time visualization of detections and the storage of historical inspection results.
